This semester was one of my most difficult semesters I think
I have had since I graduated high school. My last college course was in 2008
and I haven’t been in an English class since my junior year in high school. So
needless to say my writing skills were definitely rushy! I have never been into
writing and in this class there was so much writing (even though looking back
at it, there wasn’t that much). If I were to look at a paper I wrote before
this class and my last paper, I think I have improve quite a bit. I still have
my flaws about what and how a paper should sound, but I think I am a lot better
at grammar. Before when I was writing a text message I would never use punctuation
and if I did it was multiple periods. Now I find myself looking at how the
message is wrote and changing it to sound more professional and not putting
multiple periods between sentences. It is just crazy to think that a little bit
of re-education can change so much of the way things are done on a daily basis.
Another thing I have never done is blogging. It is still
probably one of the hardest, yet easiest, assignments we had in this class. I am
not very good at coming up with stuff to write about and when I do it doesn’t
seem to fit in with what needs to be talked about. When we were given free
blogging, I had no idea what to even start with. I just sat there for hours
debating on what should be in my blog. I am also really bad at showing personal
emotion through writing, so blogging is one thing I learned is not something I
will ever be good at!
All in all, I did enjoy this class for the most part. I had
my hard times with papers and would get beyond stressed and just want to give
up. With the encouragement from my friends and family, I made it through it and
couldn’t be happier to have this class done the first time!
